Virtual Communities

Virtual Communities

There are virtual communities that exist all over the web. These virtual communities vary from social media sites to estate agents; virtual communities are a clever way of creating relationships between people such as friends, customers and employees of a business. Gamers are one of the most frequent users of virtual communities as they allow each other to play games and communicate with each other from all across the world.

  1. I also think that forums are a good example of virtual communities because they are very helpful, as people can ask question and people that know the answer can pass on their knowledge. The only downside is that you dont know who you are dealing with.

  2. Virtual communities are all over the web. They're full of unique and different people, and allow them to communicate to one another, and also lets people create new friendships and stay in touch. This means that people are social on the internet, but maybe not in real life, proving that a lot of people are becoming anti-social.

  3. I agree with these statements, but i do believe that the gaming community is incredible popular with multiple gaming forums, where people discuss about games and gaming consols, this is a good way to share and discuss information and opinions.

  4. From the above comments, they all suggest that virtual communities exist all over the internet and are in many forms and are used by all people; this means that people are able to stay in touch and communicate with each other easily, the only disadvantage could be that a lot of virtual communities can be anonymous so other people don't know who they are talking to/ dealing with so therefore are at a more higher risk of receiving online and verbal abuse.
